One Gospel. One Faith. One God. Once the largest Pre-Nicene Christian denomination in the world, the Marcionite Christian Church was founded in 144 A.D. by Saint Marcion of Sinope and is the birthplace of the very first Christian bible compiled that same year. The church is also home to the world's oldest carved inscription in the world dedicating a Christian church and bearing the name of Jesus and it reads: "To our Lord and Savior Jesus the Good," written in Koine Greek.

"But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
For I neither received it of man, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ."

Galatians 1:8-9

Learn more about Marcion of Sinope, the Patron Saint of the Marcionite Christian Church

St. Marcion (85-160 A.D.) was the son of the Bishop of Pontus and retraced the routes of the Apostle Paul's evangelical journeys across the Roman Empire. And from the churches established by Paul, he collected the original ten epistles and the Gospel of The Lord, transcribing them and creating the first Christian bible in 144 A.D.
